NEWS
The Baltimore Ravens rolled over the Washington Redskins, 23-3, in the preseason version of the Battle of the Beltways.
A close game turned into a rout in the second half as the Ravens defense continued to dominate.
The score was tied at 3 for much of the first half until the Ravens ran a fake punt that took them from midfield down to the one-yard line.
The Ravens punched the ball into the end zone one play later, and Marc Bulger ran a nice two-minute drill to help put 3 more points on the board before halftime. ( Read More…)

Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Jared Gaither will miss the next two-to-three weeks with a small tear in his back.
Gaither has been bothered by his back and cramps throughout training camp and has spent most of his time on the sidelines.
He inexplicably spent the offseason losing 30-40 pounds, something the Ravens never wanted him to do.
The offensive lineman thought that losing the weight would take some of the pressure off of his troublesome ankle. ( Read More…)

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Sergio Kindle is in stable condition after falling down two flights of stairs.
There are few details released about what happened, but Kindle somehow fell down stairs visiting someone in Texas.
The Ravens have been in touch with the linebacker and his doctors and are confident things will turn out well.
Kindle will remain in Texas and will not begin training camp together with the Ravens, which could hurt his chance of playing time. ( Read More…)

Baltimore Ravens rookie linebacker Sergio Kindle was hospitalized on Sunday, after suffering a head injury earlier in the week. It is believed that Kindle fell down two flights of stairs on Thursday. Kindle fell at a house he was visiting in Austin, Tx.
Kindle, who played at the University of Texas in Austin, will be unable to report to training camp with his fellow rookies at McDaniel College on Monday. ( Read More…)

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is excited about a breakout season for his team and on a personal level.
Flacco said that the current team is the best he has ever been on, which has raised expectations significantly.
He echoed wide receiver Derrick Mason’s comments that anything less than a Super Bowl was a major disappointment.
The quarterback said the team has been very disappointed in the final result the past two seasons and is going to get it done one of these days. ( Read More…)

New Baltimore Ravens safety Ken Hamlin said he is content being a backup to star Ed Reed.
That may be surprising to some considering Hamlin is just a couple of years removed from a Pro Bowl.
The safety just seems happy to have a contract and be a part of the Baltimore defensive tradition. ( Read More…)

Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed has ended his offseason silence and said he wants a new contract.
It wasn’t even 100 percent certain that Reed was going to decide to come back this year, making his statements all that much more surprising.
He said he is currently at about 35 percent after undergoing offseason hip surgery and cannot train as of yet. ( Read More…)

The Baltimore Ravens have come to an agreement on long-term contracts with two of their rookies.
Defensive tackle Arthur Jones and tight end Dennis Pitta have signed deals, leaving four rookies unsigned.
The signing of Pitta may press former Oregon tight end Ed Dickson to sign a deal to assure he is in camp on time. ( Read More…)

The Baltimore Ravens have been told by the NFL that they must cancel their remaining offseason camps.
The NFL said they received word that the Ravens violated rules on how long players can practice and how much time can be spent at the team facility.
General manager Ozzie Newsome acknowledged the mistake and said that it won’t happen again.
Now the big question for the Ravens is trying to figure out who tipped them off to the league office.
I’m sure there is some suspicions about Jared Gaither, who just signed his tender offer and has been in the doghouse with head coach John Harbaugh.

The Baltimore Ravens have signed free agent kicker Shayne Graham to a one-year contract.
The deal sets the stage for an intense kicking competition in training camp between Graham and Billy Cundiff.
Cundiff was signed by the Ravens in the middle of last season after Steve Hauschka missed several key kicks.
He did a solid job for the Ravens, but the team still has some doubts about Cundiff over the long haul.
Graham has a strong leg and is a very accurate kicker, but his stock plummeted after he missed two chip-shot field goals in the playoffs last year.
